Classification Process
Network Chemistry has developed a new technique for building the classification database which leverages the network effect and the collaboration of thousands of network administrators and networks.
This patent-pending technique is named Collaborative Device Classification and is unique to Network Chemistry.
RogueScanner performs the scanning and probing to fingerprint the devices on a local network. It then uses the centralized classification server and database hosted and maintained by Network Chemistry to make classification decisions. The database has been built based on the more than 25,000 downloads of RogueScanner. The system identifies over 800 different types of APs as well as nearly 10,000 other types of network devices.
