Washington State Auditor's Office Deploys Network Chemistry's Industry-Leading Wireless Security Solutions
Government Agency to Use Company's Solutions to Enforce
No-Wireless Policy and Protect Key Data and Assets
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 3, 2026 - Network Chemistry Inc., the wireless security experts, announced today that the Washington State Auditor's Office is deploying its RFprotectT Distributed system and RFprotect Mobile from its RFprotect family of wireless threat protection solutions. This deployment satisfies requirements of two separate groups within the agency.
The Auditor's Office of Information Technology has deployed Network Chemistry's RFprotect Distributed system in four of its buildings to enforce its no-wireless policy as well as to detect threats and prevent attacks on its network. The office also deployed RFprotect Mobile, a portable, laptop-based suite of analysis tools to detect, locate, and mitigate wireless-specific threats. Both these products will enable the agency to proactively enforce its no-wireless policy with a complete solution set to meet two critical requirements. First, the Auditor's Office needed a dedicated system with 24x7 monitoring that could scan for and locate rogue APs in its facilities. Second, the agency also needed a laptop-based system that could perform walk-around vulnerability assessments and accelerate incident response when a rogue AP was detected on or near its facilities.
The Auditor's Office IT auditors will also use RFprotect Mobile to detect, locate, and mitigate wireless-specific threats during security and systems audits of other state agencies. IT auditors will use the laptop-based system.
In initial testing of the RFprotect Distributed system, Network Chemistry and the agency's IT department deployed RFprotect sensors around an agency building to detect and identify the location of rogue wireless devices. The agency turned on the wireless capabilities of several laptops and installed a wireless access point and found that the tests were able to identify and locate these devices. In addition, the tests revealed a number of APs and ad-hoc networks in coffee shops and other locations outside the agency's building.
