Network Chemistry Introduces RFprotect™ System 4
New Wireless IPS and RF Management System is an Industry Breakthrough in Cost Reduction and Workflow Optimization for Protecting Wireless LANs
LAS VEGAS, NV (NetWorld+Interop Booth 2067) - May 2, 2026 - Network Chemistry, Inc., The RF Security CompanyT, today announced the availability of RFprotect System 4, a wireless intrusion protection system (WIPS) and RF management system for enterprise wireless LANs (WLANs) needing to support business-sensitive applications. The new RFprotect provides a breakthrough reduction in costs and numerous improvements to WLAN operational workflow, which when combined, result in system payback over three times faster than competing solutions.
Enterprises know that WIPS is required with encryption and authentication to fully secure a WLAN. RF management is needed to keep these networks reliable, yet many enterprises haven't deployed these critical tools across all of their facilities due to their relatively high ownership costs, particularly due to the labor and capital to install an overlay network of distributed RF sensors. RFprotect System 4 completely eliminates the need for this overlay network.
RFprotect System 4 is a sweeping upgrade to Network Chemistry's current RFprotect products, which have been deployed by over 250 commercial and government accounts worldwide under its own brand name and its licensees. Key additions to RFprotect System 4 are a new RF analysis sensor, new application modules, and an even tighter integration between the Distributed and Mobile software components.
RFprotect's latest generation of distributed sensors provide much of the cost reduction breakthroughs. Specifically redesigned for cost savings and half the price of competitive offerings, the new RFprotect Sensors also include an innovation called PortSaverT. The patent pending technology eliminates the need for new cable pulls, switch ports, and power injectors to connect remote sensors. In effect, PortSaver reduces installation costs by $500 to $1,000 per sensor. This cost savings is huge in larger deployments, so for the first time, robust WLAN management tools can be economically deployed across the entire enterprise. Network Chemistry is the only WIDS vendor to build sensor hardware specifically for RF analysis and surveillance.
In addition to these cost reductions, RFprotect System 4 includes new application modules and further system integration to improve the operational workflow for WLAN security and performance management. The new RFprotect helps security personnel with policy-based intrusion prevention and location visualization of wireless devices. Together, these capabilities simplify procedures for taking immediate action upon a wireless security threat and ultimately locating the malicious device for removal. Moreover, RFprotect helps network personnel with advanced RF site survey and noise interference isolation. Based on real-time signal measurements, these new performance tools facilitate access point (AP) placement to optimize coverage performance, and accelerate isolation of interference sources that cause RF degradations.
Policy-Based Intrusion Prevention is provided by RFprotect's new RogueCheckT and enhanced RFshieldT application modules. The system can automatically assess the threat of unauthorized devices and determine whether prevention defenses should be applied. New RogueCheck uses a variety of switch-based interrogation and wireless connectivity tests to determine whether a rogue AP is connected to the enterprise network. RFprotect's intrusion prevention module, RFshield, is used to actively block and disable the rogue. With this release, RFshield can now apply its blocking techniques to contain specific wireless devices according to policy. For example, the system can automatically prevent authorized devices from connecting with unauthorized devices.
Real-time Location Visualization of wireless devices and rogues is provided within RFprotect's new RFlocateT application module. In real-time, the system can map any wireless device onto a graphical floor plan, which can be used to pinpoint a rogue or hacker device. RFprotect uniquely gathers RF measurements from RF sensors either permanently located (on walls) or in the field (on laptops) to provide the most accurate location determination in a wireless IPS.
Advanced RF Site Survey and Noise Interference Isolation are provided within RFprotect's new RFsurveyT application module. To help in designing and tuning WLANs, the system now provides graphical displays of theoretical and actual RF coverage of APs and RF sensors. These capabilities are particularly useful in the RFprotect Mobile component for laptop-based, walk around auditing and testing.
All the new application modules are further enhanced by an even tighter integration between RFprotect's mobile and distributed software components. RFprotect Mobile can act like a mobile sensor, taking measurement samples in different locations and uploading data in real-time to the RFprotect Server, to be correlated with measurements taken by the distributed RF sensors. Likewise, test configurations and measurements archived in the RFprotect Server can be downloaded to RFprotect Mobile to facilitate troubleshooting and threat locationing. No other WIPS supports this level of integration to simply operational workflow.
